Soulstone Survivors is an action roguelite where you carve through waves of enemies, collect soulstones, and build a god-like hero from scratch each run.

Native Apple Silicon and Intel support out of the box

The macOS version works natively on both Apple Silicon and Intel machines. Controls feel tight with a mouse and keyboard right from the start, and performance holds up well even when the screen fills with spells and projectiles.

Building a character that breaks the game

With over 14 characters and hundreds of passive abilities plus runes to mix, the skill tree turns each soulstone into a meaningful choice. You're constantly tweaking your build, stacking buffs until you melt bosses in seconds.

Chasing the next unlock

Dozens of achievements and a deep skill tree give you a reason to jump straight back in. The Russian, Japanese, German, and other interface language options make it approachable no matter where you're playing from.

A typical run starts at the character select screen, where I pick someone like the Barbarian or the Spellblade depending on my mood. The Void opens, enemies pour in, and I grab my first active skill within seconds. Early minutes are about staying mobile, kiting clusters of voidlings, and snagging experience gems before the crowd thickens. By the three-minute mark I have four or five skills firing, and I'm already eyeing passive runes that complement whatever elements I'm stacking — if I lean into fire, I want burn duration and area size. Around the seven-minute wave, a miniboss tests whether the build is holding together. From there it is a frantic dance of dodging red zones, triggering cooldowns, and vacuuming up soulstones until the final Lord of the Void falls.

What a deck-builder fan gets out of it

Someone who spends evenings with Slay the Spire or Monster Train will recognize the pull of Soulstone Survivors right away. The action layer replaces card draws with real-time dodging, but the theorycrafting rhythm feels familiar: pick a skill, watch for synergies, commit to a path, and live with the consequences. A friend of mine who mostly plays turn-based roguelikes told me they were nervous about the twin-stick pace, but after two runs they were hooked — the passive tree scratches the same itch as relic stacking, and the curse system gives them sliders to raise difficulty without needing twitch reflexes. For that kind of player, the interface language toggle to Japanese or Korean is a quiet bonus when they want to practice reading while gaming.

Three settings to tweak before your third run

  • Damage numbers off. The screen gets busy fast, and turning off floating combat text helps you read boss tells and ground effects. You can still judge your build by how quickly health bars melt.
  • Cursor size up. On a Retina display, the default cursor can vanish during chaotic moments. Bumping it one or two sizes in the accessibility settings saves you from losing track mid-dodge.
  • Curse presets. Once you have unlocked a few curses, save a preset for farming soulstones and another for challenge runs. Swapping between them in the pre-game lobby cuts out the fiddly bits when you just want to jump in — and yes, some players hunting for a Soulstone Survivors torrent macOS will end up here because the native Mac version runs so cleanly they want to share it with a friend.
