Players logging on to Chan result hk today were greeted by a surprising message. It reads “All good things must come to an end….” and links to another page detailing that the site will be shutting down effective tomorrow, August 21. The message doesn’t go into any detail behind the site’s decision to shut down, but does assure users that all withdrawal requests will be honored. The site has raised some withdrawal limits to make it easier for users to move money off the site, but recommends processing withdrawal requests as soon as possible. Once users’ withdrawal requests are processed, their accounts will be closed down. The message on the site also mentions that Chan Poker is seeking a partner that will honor existing player point balances.

Billed as “the exclusing online poker room for Johnny Chan”, the site launched in 2006. Chan Poker is part of the Ongame Network, which includes several other poker sites including Mansion Poker and Hollywood Poker. While closed to U.S. players, the site boasted a fairy strong user base, and featured a Java-based browser version as well as the full download version. It will be interesting to see if any further information is forthcoming about the shutdown, and what will be next for Johnny Chan in the online poker world.

Full-Tilt-Poker Leaderboards – Current Leaders August 23th

Today is Saturday and that means it is time for our weekly look at the Full Tilt Leaderboards. We’ll be taking a look at the current Top Ten standings in the three leaderboard categories, and seeing what has been going on over the last week.

If you’d like to follow the FTP Leaderboard results, FlopTurnRiver archives the results daily on the Full Tilt Network page. You can find it here: Leaderboard-Calendar by scrolling down to the leaderboard section and choosing a day to view. Also, for today’s complete standings (top 250 in all three categories) click here: August 23 Leaderboard Results

Current August 23th Top Ten MTT Leaders

1.The Yid 8960.3

3.daisyxoxo 6266.7
4.Garbonzo24 6248.6

8.athlete2258 5410.4
9.okstate345 5388.8
10.EMSBas 5375.5

FTOPS IX closed out this week, and I fully expected to see some related movement on the leaderboards this week. That didn’t turn out to be the case, however. The winner of the FTOPS Main EVent, a player by the name of “dubbeemin”, took home a whopping payout of $432,400 for his win. Despite the huge cash, dubbeemin reportedly splits his time between tournaments and cash games, and thus didn’t even crack the top 250 this week. I’m sure he doesn’t mind after a result like that.

The Yid extended his lead this week with another high volume week packed with good results. He turned in four 4-figure cashes this week, including a win in the $75 buyin $18K Guaranteed tournament for $4,243 on 08/21.

DimJarnaby35 jumps 5 spots from 7th to 2nd this week on the strength of a 4th place finish in the $75 buyin $35K Guaranteed for $2,285 on 08/20. He also put in a ton of volume in the multitable Sit N Go tourneys this week, logging an incredible 19 top 2 finishes in 45-player and 90-player tournaments.

This seemed to be a theme this week, with several players showing very high volume in these popular multitable events. Garbonzo24, creig, sprstoner, and athlete2258 all posted impressive results to move up the list, with athlete2258 jumping from 22nd last week to crack the leaderboard this week in 9th place.

Also very impressive this week was dinkydoofus jumping up 4 spots to 5th place this week. He booked five 4-figure scores, with his best showing a 2nd place in the $163 buyin $40K Guaranteed for $8,856.

Current August 23th Top Ten SNG Leaders – High Limit

1. adb235 28,543.8
2. moneyinthebank1 23,731.7
3. Whitesnake1 21,515.1
4. PokerToronto 20,148.5

8. jdpc27 13,379.7
9. PSCPRODIGY 11,063.3
10. locks18 10,604.7

This week’s High Limit SNG leaderboard showed some interesting developments, with adb235 still in the top spot and widening his lead over moneyinthebank1. It will be interesting to see if moneyinthebank1 can make up some ground going into the end of the month.

Whitesnake1 put in a very solid week, earning over 8000 points this week to vault him from 5th into the 3rd spot. He is closing nicely on the top two and looks poised to make a run at the top.

The rest of the Top Ten is made up of the same names as last week, with not a whole lot of movement. One exception is culaopho, who also posted some nice results and moves up from 9th to 5th this week.

Current August 23th Top Ten SNG Leaders – Low Limit

1. Peristeria 14,471.8
2. DeepComputer 13,000.1
3. einsammy 12,264.1
4. blankchocolate 11,031.9
5. ObvFish 9,113.4

8. ecued 8,308.4
9. LDCrayne 8,192.1
10. acidcracker 7,716.4

The race for the Low Limit title remains tight this week. Peresteria and DeepComputer are still running 1/2 and are still very close in points. Einsammy put in a solid week to jump over blankchocolate and move into 3rd place, up from 4th last week.

There are a few new names on the Top Ten this week, with ObvFish and timo82samuel both posting impressive results. ObvFish pops up from 14th to 5th this week, and timo82samuel moves from 15th up to 6th.

Another new name this week is acidcracker, bouncing up from 20th to crack the Top Ten this week and round out the list in 10th.

That’s all for this week. Stay tuned to this spot, as I’ll be reporting on the Full Tilt Leaderboards every Saturday. See you next week!
